About Oyami

Oyami is a platform for live conversation between humans. Planned or spontaneous, matched or invited. The discipline is the same: listen carefully, ask questions, take turns.

How it works

Sign in with your Pharmacopedia account. Tell us when you’re free and what kind of humans you’d like to meet. We propose a meeting. Everyone has to say yes. Then you meet by video.

You can also join a drop-in lobby: an open space where anyone can show up and talk.

On listening

Oyami conversations follow a Rogerian framework. Careful listening is an art and a discipline. Centered around acceptance and curiosity, keeping our judgments to ourselves. We teach it before your first meeting. We do not enforce it. There is no AI in the room. The work rests on the humans who showed up.

What we do not do

We do not record. We do not transcribe. We do not put an AI in the room. We do not run ads. We do not track you. We do not rate you against other humans.

Free and open-source

No ads. No paid tiers. The code is public.
